The PaintingIn the painting, there is a bride and she is under the canopy. From the painting, we can’t understand who the groom is. We can understand that this painting is a painting of a wedding and we can say that there are two musicians entertaining the guests. In the painting, we can see that they serve bread and soup. From the painting, we can understand that they are in a barn and this wedding is a typical peasant wedding, since they are considerably poor.

The PoemIn the poem, we can understand that bride is the one with white covering. From the poem, we can understand the groom is the man who pours the wine. We can understand this from the line “Pour the wine bridegroom” In the poem, it says that “guests seated at long tables / the bagpipers are ready” so the poem is similar to the painting. It just describes what is happening in the painting in a better explaining way. Unlike the painting, the food served in the wedding is not clear in the poem. The poem only says that “dishes are being served”, but it doesn’t go into depth. From the poem, we can understand that they are in a farm with the help of the line “unhinged barn door.” Also, we can say that this is a peasant wedding; since they are very poor and don’t have many wedding equipments.
